Inspired EP 1 ft Ifani Nkosi

By: Nothile Mbatha

Born in Swaziland, Nhlakanipho Ifani Nkosi’s road into business has been paved with plenty of
detours.

The 25-year-old moved to South Africa with his family in the 90’s before democracy prevailed
and settled in Umlazi.

In the year 2001, Nkosi lost his father. Plagued with difficulties he started listening to gospel
artists such as Sipho Makhabane and Sfiso Ncwane for motivation. He started drawing at the tender age of 5 which led to him studying Engineering and Graphic
Design in Makhumbuza High, sparking his love for architecture.

After matric, Nkosi applied to study architecture however, life seemed to have other plans for
him and was rejected by Durban University of Technology.
However, his undying fighting spirit persevered which led to him later enrolling in Interior
Design a year later in Durban University of Technology.

They all  went in and literally brought the party to it's knees. Among all the colourful acts that made it to the night- TDK Macassette was one of them, Dj sox, Tip Cee, Amadada (Afrotaiment dancers), Distruction Boyz Gold Max. Andile Mpisane also made an appearance as Dj sox's hypeman.

Dladla Mshunqisi was expcted to be there but he was nowhere to be seen screaming and shouting, nevertheless  umalume- Dj Tira was the surprise act and he sure did surprise the audience by the energy he brought on stage.
